Piano practice sessions

I've been going to practice piano around once or twice per week (more like... whenever I actually go to CLD, since I usually practice after my class LOL) for the past couple of weeks or so, and last week I've recorded myself just so I can listen where I do wrong and correct myself.

And since they're recorded anyways... I might as well just throw them up :)

Yiruma - River Flows in You

I must've uploaded GAZILLIONS of versions of this already... but I still am not satisfied with my playing :(
I think I've actually gotten a little worse from the last time I recorded, since I haven't practiced for over a month -.-

I still don't play soft enough at some places... STILL tempo problems (what's wrong with my BRAIN?! relaaax and play steadily, grrr!!!)... overall not smooth enough! I need to perfect it, argh!

(and sorry, the person in the room next to me was playing the 1 Litre of Tears song... you can kind of hear it :P)

Liszt - Un Sospiro

I've started learning this piece since grade 7 (yes, 10 years ago!!), stopped for a bit, learned it again for a recital in grade 9, then again in CEGEP for my ARCT, and I've STILL never bothered to play it properly. I actually didn't even KNOW what this piece was SUPPOSED to sound like until a year or two ago, when I actually looked it up on Youtube... just to find out that I've always played it completely wrong (or rather, in MY OWN style! :P). Again, I've uploaded gazillions of versions of this before, and ALL of them are pure CRAP.

I think I've improved a lot in terms of speed and clarity, but it's STILL not clear enough, especially the later parts which are plagued with mistakes... technique has always been my weakness T_T Musicality is almost inexistent... gotta work on that AFTER I'm done with technique!!

I'm planning to use this piece as audition for taking the music studio course back at Waterloo, so I better practice more, cause I have a looong way to go...

I'm also learning another piece for the audition, but I'm really not sure whether I'll be done learning it by January. It's not too hard,
but with 1-2 hours of practice per week, it's not really looking good...

Anyways, that's pretty much it. Comments & criticisms welcome... anything that can help me improve! :)

Edit: OMG! The links and the HTML actually worked! Gotta love Posterous XD
